Ive had c diff for a few months now and whenever im on vanco my stools are normal solid consistency but ever since ive had c diff there are always a orangish yellow color and always have that mold/mildew c diff odor. Is there a reason why my BM are never the normal brown color.? Regardless of what i eat and drink theyre the same odd color. I have had a upper GI and a colonoscopy and and no problems have been found (besides c diff of course) Is this normal?

My stool looks brown and normal but on the paper there will be a little yellow tint. I too have experienced this all thru my on and off battle with C diff. Even when I was negative for the last 9 months prior to my relapse it was the same. I know some of the pus and toxin C diff creates can be yellow or white or grey. I am on second week of 8 week Vanco taper now...

Mine were like that too - either yellow or yellowish orange. I told more than one doctor about it and got various answers. One was that if the transit time is fast this happens. I had a similar experience with the Xifaxan, but that pill is orange, so it may have been the dye. It started when I took the vanco though. Maybe because the antibiotics destroy the good bacteria too - might have something to do with it.

What I was told was any color, any consistency is normal, so not to worry.
